Terms of
Service.
Last updated: 09-09-2026
By booking an appointment with Null Sector LLC (“Null Sector,” “we,” “us”), whether online or by phone, the client (“Client,” “you”) agrees to the following Terms of Service. Submitting a callback request alone does not book an appointment.
1. Scope of Services
Null Sector provides technology-related services including, but not limited to:
• Computer diagnostics and repair
• Hardware installation and replacement
• Software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Virus and malware assessment and removal
• Data transfer, backup assistance, and recovery attempts
• System optimization and general technical support
• TV, security camera, and household device setup and troubleshooting
• Phone and account troubleshooting, and family device configuration
Phone support is limited to setup, software, settings, and account troubleshooting; physical phone damage repairs are not provided. Services do not include TV or camera mounting, roof work (including roof-mounted Starlink installation), drilling, wiring through walls, or other home modifications. Equipment requiring mounting or fixed installation must be installed separately before device setup services.
Services may be performed on-site, in-shop, or remotely depending on the job.
No guarantee is made that any specific issue can be identified or resolved.
2. Authorization to Work
By authorizing service, Client confirms they are the owner of the device or have full authority to approve service.
Client authorizes Null Sector to access, test, modify, configure, open, and repair device(s) as reasonably necessary to perform authorized services.
3. Data Responsibility & Data Loss
Client acknowledges that they are solely responsible for backing up all data prior to service.
Null Sector is not responsible for data loss, corruption, missing files, or inaccessible information that may occur due to diagnostics, repair, software changes, hardware failure, or system instability.
No data integrity guarantee is expressed or implied.
4. Data Recovery Disclaimer
Data recovery services are provided on a best-effort basis only.
• No guarantee is made that data can be recovered
• Recovered data may be incomplete, corrupted, or unusable
• Devices may degrade further during recovery attempts
If no meaningful data can be recovered, the total is $60: the $40 trip/diagnostic fee plus a $20 recovery attempt fee. If data is recovered, the listed recovery price applies in addition to the $40 trip/diagnostic fee; the $20 attempt fee does not apply.
Before any recovery attempt, we explain the risks, limitations, and applicable charges and obtain your authorization. Recovery may be unsuccessful, recovered files may be incomplete or corrupted, and the device may deteriorate during the attempt.
5. Pre-Existing Conditions & Hardware Risk
Null Sector is not responsible for:
• Pre-existing damage or defects
• Latent hardware failure
• Manufacturer defects
• Device failure due to age, wear, overheating, liquid damage, or prior repair attempts
Opening devices may expose or worsen existing issues. Client accepts this risk.
6. Third-Party Software & Services
Null Sector may install, configure, or recommend third-party software or services.
Null Sector does not control and is not responsible for third-party software behavior, updates, licensing, availability, or compliance. Client is responsible for all licensing and subscription requirements.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Null Sector is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, loss of profits, downtime, or emotional distress.
Total liability, if any, is limited to the amount paid for the specific service performed.
8. Devices in Null Sector Custody
In some cases, Null Sector may take temporary custody of a Client’s device for diagnostics, repair, or service completion.
Devices are held only as long as reasonably necessary to perform authorized services.
Null Sector is not responsible for loss or damage caused by pre-existing conditions, component failure, or environmental factors.
If a device must be retained due to non-payment or unresolved authorization, such retention is governed by Section 9.
9. Payment, Fees, and Authorization
Payment is due upon completion of authorized services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The $40 trip and diagnostic fee applies to every appointment and covers the visit and evaluation. If we cannot fix the stated issue because it is outside our expertise, beyond the device’s capabilities, or the device is damaged or at the end of its useful life, no additional repair charge applies. We explain our findings and recommendations before discussing any further work. Additional repair charges apply only when the agreed fix is completed. The separate data recovery attempt-fee policy is described in Section 4.
Client dissatisfaction with the speed or efficiency of service does not invalidate agreed pricing.
Failure to submit payment upon completion constitutes non-payment.
9.1 Right to Retain Device for Non-Payment
In the event of non-payment, partial payment, or payment dispute, Null Sector reserves the right to retain possession of any device currently in its custody until full payment is received.
This right applies regardless of the time required to complete service.
No further work or data access will occur while payment remains unresolved.
Devices will be promptly returned once payment is received in full.
10. No Warranty on Services
Unless otherwise stated in writing, services are provided “AS IS.”
No express or implied warranties are provided. Any limited workmanship warranty applies only to labor and does not cover parts, devices, or future failures.
11. Client Conduct
Null Sector reserves the right to refuse or terminate service for abusive, threatening, unsafe, or illegal behavior.
12. Confidentiality & Incidental Data Exposure
Null Sector respects client privacy and treats all visible data as confidential.
Client acknowledges that diagnostics or repair may require access to system files, applications, or storage, which may result in incidental exposure to personal, sensitive, or private content, including but not limited to personal media, financial records, or family documents.
Such exposure is unintentional and limited strictly to what is necessary to perform authorized services.
Null Sector does not intentionally review, copy, retain, distribute, or disclose client data except as required to complete services or comply with law.
13. No Duty to Monitor or Investigate Content
Null Sector has no obligation to monitor, search, review, or investigate client data.
Null Sector does not act as a data auditor, investigator, or law enforcement agent.
14. Mandatory Reporting & Legal Compliance
If, during authorized service, Null Sector encounters material that reasonably appears to involve illegal activity, including but not limited to CSAM or evidence of violent crime, Null Sector may be legally obligated to report such material to appropriate authorities.
Client agrees that such reporting does not constitute a breach of confidentiality, privacy, or contract.
15. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16. Modification of Terms
Null Sector LLC reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time.
The most current version will be presented at the time of service authorization or made available upon request.
Changes do not apply retroactively to services already completed unless required by law.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between Client and Null Sector LLC regarding services provided.
18. Acknowledgment & Acceptance
By booking an appointment, whether online or by phone, Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service. A separate signature is not required. Submitting a callback request alone does not constitute booking an appointment.
